Frequently Asked Questions
Who should deliver the program?
The program is designed to be delivered by teaching staff who know their students and can adapt discussions and activities to suit their school context. More than one teacher can deliver the program across multiple Year 6 classes.
When should we start delivery?
Schools can choose the Term 4 delivery approach that works best for their students and timetable.
We suggest either:
- Option 1: Weekly delivery
Begin in Term 4 and deliver approximately one lesson per week. - Option 2: Intensive delivery
Deliver the program over approximately two weeks, with one lesson each school day.
Is the program aligned with the curriculum?
Yes. The program aligns with the ACARA Australian Curriculum for Year 6, particularly Health and Physical Education, supporting learning around wellbeing, relationships, help-seeking and managing change.
How many lessons are included?
The program includes 9 structured lessons, each designed to take approximately 60 minutes.
What do we need to do before starting?
A little preparation will help the program run smoothly. We recommend mapping the lessons to suit your timetable, familiarising your team with the content and printing any worksheets required.
Can we adapt the lessons?
Absolutely. We understand that you know your students best. The teacher guide is designed to support delivery while allowing you to make the program your own and respond to the needs of your students.
What if a student needs additional wellbeing support?
This is a prevention and early-intervention program designed to build students’ confidence to recognise when they need support and ask for help. If a student reaches out or raises a concern during the program, this is a positive sign that they are putting these skills into practice. Please respond in line with your school’s usual wellbeing and student support procedures.
Will teachers and students complete a survey?
Yes. At the end of the program, teaching staff and students will each complete a short anonymous feedback survey that takes less than 2 minutes. Their feedback helps us understand their experience and continue to improve the program.
Can we provide feedback about the program?
Absolutely. We value feedback and ideas from participating schools and welcome you to get in touch at any time.
This program helps students build important skills like self-awareness, resilience, and how to connect with others, while also tackling practical issues they’ll face in high school — giving them a solid foundation as they take on the next chapter of their education.
We’re here to support students as they navigate this important transition — helping set them up for a confident, positive start to high school.
